Sugar Rush swapped reels for a lolly-shop grid and became one of the most-played titles on our SpinBit shelf almost immediately. Pragmatic Play put it out in June 2022, and the reason it stuck around is the one mechanic nothing else quite copies: multiplier spots that stay where they land and double every time you hit them again.
| Specification | Value | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Studio | Pragmatic Play | Released June 2022 |
| Grid | 7×7, cluster pays | Forty-nine positions, no paylines |
| Cluster minimum | 5 matching symbols | Anywhere on the grid, touching |
| Return to player | 96.50% default | Long-run average, not a session forecast |
| Volatility | Very high | The sharpest end of our shelf |
| Bet range | $0.20 to $100 | Default stake sits at $2 |
| Hit frequency | 34.48% | Roughly one paying drop in three |
| Multiplier spots | 2x doubling to 128x | They stay put for the whole round |
| Maximum win | 5,000x the bet | $1,000 from a $0.20 stake at the ceiling |
On the SpinBit build, five or more matching lollies touching each other form a cluster and pay. They then explode, the grid tumbles, and fresh symbols drop in. Here is the part that makes Sugar Rush different: every position where a symbol exploded turns into a multiplier spot at 2x, and it stays on the grid. Explode a symbol in that same position again and the spot doubles.
| Times a spot is hit | Its multiplier | Doubling step | Where it usually gets to |
|---|---|---|---|
| First hit | 2x | Spot created | Common on any paying drop |
| Second hit | 4x | Doubled | Regular in a decent chain |
| Fourth hit | 16x | Doubled twice more | A strong base-game round |
| Sixth hit | 64x | Two more doublings | Rare outside free spins |
| Seventh hit | 128x | The ceiling for one spot | The top of the ladder |
Multiple SpinBit multiplier spots on the same drop are added together, not multiplied, and the total lands on the win from that tumble. A long chain in the middle of the grid is worth more than a longer chain spread across the edges, purely because the middle gets revisited more often.
Three or more rocket gumball scatters open the SpinBit feature, and the number of scatters sets the length: three gives 10 free spins, four gives 12, five gives 15, six gives 20 and seven gives 30. Retriggers follow exactly the same scale, with no cap on how many times it can happen.
Inside the SpinBit feature, multiplier spots persist for the whole run instead of clearing between spins. That is the structural difference between the base game and free spins on Sugar Rush, and it is why the top payouts almost always come from the bonus rather than from ordinary play. A grid that has been building spots for eight spins is a very different grid to the one you started on.
The 96.50% SpinBit return figure and a 34.48% hit rate sit next to a very high volatility rating, and those three numbers describe different things. The return is an average across an enormous sample. The hit rate says how often something pays. The volatility says how unevenly the money arrives, and on Sugar Rush it arrives in a few big lumps with long flat stretches between them.
For a bonus running on a four-day clock at SpinBit, that unevenness is worth planning around. Pokies contribute 100% towards wagering here, so Sugar Rush counts in full, but a very high volatility title can eat a short window without producing the round that pays for it. Keep the $20 maximum stake in mind whenever a bonus is active.
The SpinBit buy option costs 100x the total stake and guarantees between three and seven scatters, which means the length of the feature you buy is still down to the drop. Waiting for it costs nothing but patience. Neither route changes the long-run return; they change how a session is shaped, and that is a preference rather than a strategy.
Sugar Rush runs in demo mode in the SpinBit lobby if you want to watch the spots build before committing anything. Once you are ready, it is one of the titles our free spins land on, so a welcome package will very likely put you here anyway.
